About

I started my career in 1994, working at the Vanouver Provincial Courts in the downtown eastside of Vancouver. Initially I helped people with addiction and mental health issues learn how to manage their problems and minimize their involvement in the criminal justice system. From there, I went on to counsel people individually and in groups who were mandated by the Courts to seek help. I worked in the criminal justice system over a ten-year period throughout the lower mainland including east Vancouver, New Westminster, North Shore, Squamish and Whistler. I specialized in addiction, anger management, child abuse and domestic violence.

More recently, my direction and passion for counselling is with families, youth and children. At North Shore Family Services, I worked with adults, couples, children, parents and families in the Family Counselling program. I was also employed at Sea to Sky Community Services for several years, developing the Child and Youth Addiction Services program and providing counselling to children, youth, parents and families in Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton.

I currently live in Squamish, BC, with my husband and two daughters. I enjoy reading, travelling and outdoor recreation such as mountain biking, climbing and skiing. I strive to maintain a balance between my family, my work and my recreation.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). This means that I have a Masters degree (MA) in Counselling Psychology and have been approved by a professional association called the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) to provide assessment, treatment and counselling to children, youth, adults, families and parents. I am required to follow strict ethical and practical guidelines in my work and maintain up-to-date insurance coverage. If at anytime you feel that I have been unethical or negligent in my work, you can report your concerns to the BCACC and I will be held accountable for my actions.
